Notice is
hereby given to taxable property owners of the Town of Blooming Grove, New
York, that I the undersigned, Receiver of Taxes, in said Town, have received
the warrant for the collection of taxes for the year 2010.
ALL
PAYMENTS MADE IN PERSON ARE MADE AT the Town Hall and are PAYABLE TO: RECEIVER OF TAXES, beginning Monday, January 4,
2010. OFFICE HOURS AT TOWN HALL are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the
exception of holidays.
ALL
MAIL-IN PAYMENTS (PAYABLE TO: RECEIVER OF TAXES) SHOULD BE MAILED TO:

Taxes
may be paid on or before February 1, 2010 without charge or interest. On taxes paid after such date, 1% penalty will
be charged for the month of February and 2% penalty for the month of March,
beginning March 2, 2010. A $2.00 SECOND
NOTICE FEE WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE
MARCH PENALTY. All unpaid taxes will be
returned to the COMMISSIONER OF FINANCE, pursuant to law, after April 1, 2010.

AGED EXEMPTION
If
total income of all owners (including Social Security) is $36,399.99 - you may
be eligible for aged exemption. Requirements include owners be 65 years or
over; owned property for at least one year before date of application, must be legal residence (permanent home);
used exclusively for residential purposes and application renewed annually. All
applications should be filled out completely, especially total income and total
expense lines, before submission.
VETERANS EXEMPTION
You
may be eligible for veterans’ exemption, or the Cold War Veterans’ Exemption
(for Orange County tax only). Please

TOWN OF BLOOMING GROVE ASSESSMENT CALENDAR
The date by which applications for a Real Property tax EXEMPTION must
be filed is MARCH 1
The date for completion of the tentative Assessment Roll is MAY 1 (since this
falls on a Saturday the completion date will be May 3rd.
The date by which complaints concerning tentative assessment must be
filed and the date The BOARD OF ASSESSMENT REVIEW will meet is the fourth
Tuesday in MAY.
The date by which the final assessment roll must be filed is JULY 1.
THIRD PARTY NOTIFICATION
Eligibility requirements are as follows:
A taxpayer must be 65 years old or more, or disabled, who owns a 1, 2,
or 3 family residential property.
A taxpayer who wishes to participate must designate an adult third
party to receive notification.
The designated third party must consent to such notification.
The application may be obtained at the Assessment Office, Town Hall, Blooming Grove, New
York 10914
The application must be filed on or before NOVEMBER 1st

FOR THE SCHOOL TAX RELIEF (STAR) EXEMPTION MAY BE
