(and surrounding areas)

BG CARE
BG CARE, a not-for-profit group concerned for the environment, invites elementary school students, grades 4 through 6, who reside in Blooming Grove, to submit original posters that promote anti-littering themes such as: Please Do Not Litter, Help to Keep the Community Clean, Put Your Trash in the Trash Can, etc. All entries will be displayed in the Blooming Grove Town Hall to promote the annual “Keep the Bloom in Blooming Grove” community litter pick-up event to be held Saturday, April 17th from 9AM to noon. Posters can be created on any type of paper that is 8 ˝ x 11 or larger using crayons, paint, or markers. They should be done by hand and not computer generated. Name, grade and telephone number should be written on the back. Entries should be dropped off at the Town Supervisor’s Office, Blooming Grove Town Hall on Horton Road by March 26th. Several prizes will be awarded based on originality, neatness, and theme according to age groups. (Entrants who wish to have their work returned must pick it up between April 19th and April 30th.) BG CARE hopes that the contest will help to educate participants about not littering and that their posters will inspire Blooming Grove residents to help with the clean-up effort. Further information regarding the art contest or the April 17th clean-up event is available by contacting BG Care at 496-5223, ext. 1 or e-mailing: bgcare@earthlink.net.
